Location:

Minehead (the nearest town) is Somerset's busiest and brightest holiday resort.  It has long been known as the Gateway to Exmoor.  The wide sandy beach and promenade in Minehead are linked to the main shopping area by the colourful tree-lined Avenue.

Attractions include:

·
Sea cruises
·
West Somerset Railway
·
Butlin's Somerwest World and funfair
·
Aquasplash Leisure Pool
·
Seafront and entertainment centres

The South West Coastpath starts on the seafront and there are many good walks from the town.
Minehead has all the usual amenities such as a theatre, supermarkets, banks, chemists and post office.

Dunster lies on the edge of Exmoor National Park which contains a variety of magnificent landscapes. Although it is one of the smaller National Parks (693 km², 267 sq. miles) the central plateau of open moorland is remote and spacious. To the north the moorland terminates in towering cliffs above the Bristol Channel. Rocky headlands, steep wooded ravines, plunging waterfalls and jumbled heaps of fallen rock make this an area of outstanding scenic beauty; it is defined as a Heritage Coast.
